I Am the Bread
John 6:25-40
In the thousands of years since this story took place, we find the heart of man remains unchanged. We still invest our lives in the physical. We still selfishly look to Jesus for what He can do for us instead of for who He is. Like the Jews in this crowd, we often misunderstand just what Jesus is saying. John is reminding us of these weaknesses so that we can see the mistakes that were made by others and learn from them. He is reminding us of Jesus’ powerful statements and signs to help us remove what blinds us and see the world as it truly is. (1John 2:15-17)
