This Sunday was Youth Sunday, and the service was jointly conducted
by the Sunday School and Youth Group. After an uplifting session by
the Worship Team the youth entered the church to the lively singing of “I
am glad I’m a part of the family of God”, waving banners. This was
followed by 2 song renditions. The Youth Choir then gave a song,
followed by another song, 2 scripture readings, a dance, then young
Chad giving a piano item while the morning’s offering was collected.
The culmination of the service was an inspiring message by Jahmeel
who challenged the congregation to walk as true disciples of Jesus
(John 8.31). Compromise with the world is not an option (James 4.3).
We should strive to set a mature christian example with lives
demonstrating the love of Christ in all its characteristics(1 Cor.
13.1-12).
Time: 11:00 A.M. and 7:30 P.M.
The glass ceiling has been removed. The gospel has now by- passed all language barriers.
On Sunday June 22, 2008, was a fitting example. We witnessed the water baptism of one brother and sister of Portuguese origin who spoke little or no English.
Praise and worship had two dimensions as songs were done in both Portuguese and English. God’s awesome goodness really knows no boundaries. The message so aptly delivered by Minister Winston Edwards, (and translated by Minister Fabio Andrade) ministered to all persons who heard it. He referred to the story of the Prodigal Son and eluded it to The Kingdom of God.
The candidates, after giving testimonies were immersed, submerged and emerged from the water as ‘new beings’. Senior Pastor, Raymond Veira did the proceedings and was assisted by Minister Fabio Andrade.
A time of celebration followed as the worship team did a few renditions, which naturally ministered to the inner being. Fellowship followed as we partook of tea and biscuits. Indeed the glass ceiling has been removed.
